Cliff rescue for stranded pooch who slipped up on walkies

A DOG GOT a little more than he bargained for when out on a walk along the Moray coastline this week when he sparked a rescue operation.

Firefighters were called to a cliff just south of Forres near Sluie Lodge when it was reported that the animal had got into trouble at around 1.20pm on Friday.

Two Fire and Rescue Service teams from Forres and Elgin were soon on the scene and used a rope/line system to lift the dog from an embankment.

A SFRS spokesman said: “We were involved in the rescue of a dog from a cliff after being called out at 1.21pm. We had two appliances at the incident, one from Elgin and one from Forres. The dog survived the incident.”
