Shetland Pony stand-in for Palm Sunday re-enactment in Forres

A SHETLAND PONY is to re-enact one of the most famous biblical scenes when it leads a procession through Forres on Sunday.

The pony is being borrowed for the day by the town’s Youth and Families Outreach Project, who will be staging their ‘Big Forres Palm’ Sunday Walk.

It will be the second year that the group will have staged the walk which re-enacts the donkey ride taken by Jesus on Palm Sunday. Sunday’s journey will begin outside St Leonard’s Church at around 2.15pm before going along the High Street, expecting to then return to the church by 3pm.

The street is expected to be closed as far as St Laurence Church during the procession.  Following the event refreshments are being served while children can take part in a traditional Easter Egg hunt.
