Buckie seafood producer nets another national honour

BUCKIE-BASED ASSOCIATED SEAFOODS has become the latest local food and drink industry firm to pick up a prestigious national accolade.

M&S ‘Twice Smoked Scottish Salmon’ is produced by the firm – and has netted their M&S Food Group Innovation Award.

The award recognises the great taste and innovation behind the development of M&S Twice Smoked Scottish Salmon, as well as the strong sales performance since its launch in autumn 2016. The winning of the top award was all the more remarkable given that it covers the whole M&S food range.

ASL Commercial Director Neil Greig was presented with the award by Andy Adcock, M&S Director of Food, and Stuart Forder, M&S Director of Food Trading, at the recent M&S annual conference in London.

Speaking after the presentation, Neil Greig said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have received such recognition from such a prestigious retailer; this reflects the passion of our team at Buckie for producing great quality Scottish smoked salmon.

“It puts our local community on the map and recognises our proud heritage in providing the very best of seafood. The award is a direct tribute to the efforts of everyone at Associated Seafoods and we are especially proud of the close working relationship we have developed with M&S.”

M&S Twice Smoked Scottish Salmon is produced using an innovative smoking technique developed by the company’s master smoker where the salmon is carefully dry cured in salt and then twice smoked for the perfect flavour and texture.
