PORTGORDON’S VILLAGE COMMUNITY are set to celebrate the arrival of summer when they hold their annual Village Fete at the end of this month.
The usual array of stalls providing locally created crafts, jewellery, truffles and home baking will be on display as will representatives from various local groups.
These will include Babs Dial A Bus, Elgin Stroke Friends, Enable Buckie and Erskine.
The Buckie Pipe Bank will be on hand to entertain during two afternoon sessions – and organisers are promising a few more surprises still in the pipeline for Sunday, May 28 from 2pm to 4.30pm on Harbour Green.
A spokeswoman told insideMoray: “During the afternoon we will have a selection of games for all the family – and if you need a nice cuppa after that, then the Lampie Hoose will be the place to visit for afternoon teas, ice-cream and do’nuts.”
The day is being arranged by the Portgordon Alliance, which is formed from the Parent and Teachers Group, Community Harbour Group and the Lampie Hoose plus the Portgordon Post.
The spokeswoman added: “We did hope to organise a beach clean-up on the same day but, alas, that was not possible – however, we have a date for that set as Sunday, June 17 and we will publicise that further nearer the time.”
