Search launched for most successful Moray exporters

THE SEARCH FOR the Moray business with the best track record in the export sector is on – with the eventual winner being announced later this year.

Moray Chamber of Commerce launched the search this week ahead of their annual awards dinner on September 1 at the Alexander Graham Bell Centre.

The Export Award is one of two that will be made on the night – the other being the business that is judged to have made an “exceptional contribution” to the Moray economy.

The Moray Export Award, sponsored by Walkers Shortbread, is open to businesses with a strong track record of exporting over the last 12 months and the judging will focus on the company’s growth into new markets and increase in export sales.

Last year’s winner was Buckie-based Associated Seafoods, producers of Scottish Seafood to customers in 28 countries around the world. They fulfilled the criteria with close to £20m of turnover with export sales accounting for 70% of that.

The awards ceremony hosts 280 local influential business people and so there could not be a better stage to have your business celebrated upon. It is the most prestigious business event of the year and Moray Chamber of Commerce is always excited to welcome back the wealth and variety of businesses that call Moray their home.

Applications for the export award can be downloaded from the Moray Chamber website.

Alternatively, enquiries can be emailed to gdunk@moraychamber.co.uk and Georgia will be happy to email you with all the details. Applications are open across Moray, including those who are not members of the Chamber of Commerce. The closing date for submitting applications is June 26.

There are still sponsorship opportunities available for this year’s dinner, along with raffle and auction donations being accepted. Please be in contact if you would like to get involved, and keep your eyes peeled as more information about this year’s Annual Business Awards is released.
