Lottery and sportScotland indoor facility boost for Buckpool

THE OPENING OF a new indoor coaching area at a Moray golf club has been welcomed by the local Member of Parliament.

Douglas Ross passed his congratulations to the committee and members of Buckpool Golf Club who had been successful in bidding for £5000 in National Lottery and sportScotland funding, used to redesign their indoor practice area.

The result is an all-year all-weather facility for the use of members.

Mr Ross said: “I would like to congratulate everyone at the club who has been involved with this project which will be a great asset for golf enthusiasts and enable valuable practice facilities no matter how unpredictable the weather, adding to everyone’s enjoyment of the game.

“I would also like to wish everyone at the club well. I understand that they have also secured the services of a PGA Golf Professional which will help boost the playing prowess of golfers at Buckpool and hopefully keep them out of the bunkers.

“As I am keen to see sport promoted to young people I can appreciate the fact that this new facility will also provide training for juniors and young golfers, helping to improve their skills.”
