Stevenson takes in several Moray communities in annual tour

A SUMMER CONSTITUENCY tour is set to take place this month by Banffshire & Buckie Coast MSP Stewart Stevenson – including several surgeries in Moray.

The current vagaries of constituency boundaries means that at least part of Moray comes under the jurisdiction of Mr Stevenson – and these will be included, offering local people an opportunity to discuss matters with their Holyrood member.

It is the 17th year such a tour has been conducted by the SNP member – this year covering no less than 37 communities.

Mr Stevenson said: “The annual surgery tour with my mobile office is always extremely enjoyable and I think also that people appreciate having their MSP come to their own community rather than having to go to one of my ‘static’ surgeries in a nearby town or village.

“Even in this age of electronic communications, people still value being able to have face-to-face contact with their elected representatives, which is important. It also gets me into some of our smaller communities which I may otherwise not have reason to visit during the course of a year.”

Moray dates and times when Mr Stewart will be available are in the Square, Cullen on Tuesday, August 8 from 2.50pm until 3.10pm. He will then be on Hill Street in Portknockie from 3.15pm until 3.30pm, moving on to Findochty from 3.35pm until 3.50pm.

Finally he will be in Rathven that day – on the main road near the church – from 4pm until 4.15pm.
