MOTORISTS IN ELGIN are being warned to obey a temporary one-way system put in place for road works – or face the consequences of their actions.
Roadworks are currently ongoing at Lesmurdie Road in the town but it seems that some motorists have been ignoring the system put in place as a safety measure.
This morning Police Scotland issued a reminder – and warning, saying: “Officers would like to remind motorists that there are currently roadworks ongoing at Lesmurdie Road in Elgin.
“A one-way system is in place for the safety of workers and pedestrians and drivers not adhering to this will be robustly dealt with. Thank you for your patience while the works are carried out.”
Work on improving gas pipes in the area was announced last month, with Lesmurdie Road between the A941 and the A96 to the south of Elgin closed northbound for up to eight weeks – the works began on Monday.
