Aberlour High Street sealed off as pensioner cut free from car

A PENSIONER HAD to be cut free from his vehicle following a crash on the main street of a Speyside town on Tuesday.

The 76-year-old man was driving his silver Renault Twingo through Aberlour High Street when it ended up on its side following the accident which involved no other vehicles.

Police, Fire and Ambulance services were all called to the scene with fire crews calling upon their cutting equipment to free the man from his vehicle. He was then taken to Dr Gray’s in Elgin by ambulance.

Police could not confirm the man’s condition last night but said that the accident had caused the busy road to be closed for over an hour as emergency services attended the scene.
