Praise as Forres in Bloom takes the golden path once again

More gold for Forres in Bloom (Facebook)

FORRES IN BLOOM picking up another Gold award in the face of stiff competition from towns around the UK has drawn praise from local MP Douglas Ross.

Forres in Bloom are no strangers to picking up awards from Britain in Bloom – and the latest competition announcements in Llandudno at the weekend saw them do so yet again.

Moray’s MP said: “As well as winning a Gold award and the Town category to add to their floral credentials, Forres in Bloom have won an award for overcoming adversity and husband and wife Sandra and Ian MacLennan were named as Community Champions for their tireless efforts.”

Mr Ross added: “I am absolutely delighted for everyone at Forres in Bloom, the town always looks fantastic and this is thanks to the hard work and dedication of these volunteers. For as long as I can remember Forres in Bloom has made an amazing contribution and this year the town has looked better than ever.

“The flowers and the park showcase Forres to the visitors who come here and volunteers are out every evening throughout the summer watering the hanging baskets in the High Street, which always look spectacular.

“I also regularly see the group hard at work in Grant Park at the flower beds and I know they do a lot with local schoolchildren who are members of the Wee FiBees, which is inspiring a new generation.

“The whole of Moray can be rightly proud of the accolades given to Forres in Bloom. These awards shine a light on what a small group of dedicated people can do when they are prepared to roll their sleeves and get on with it.

“The floral displays they produce every year are a credit to each and every one of them.”
