Elgin Elves preparing a special Christmas Day treat for residents

A SPECIAL CHRISTMAS DAY LUNCH is being planned by a dedicated team of volunteers – now all they require is to ensure that their work reaches those who would benefit from the event.

The lunch will be held on Christmas Day from 1pm until 4pm at the Bishopmill Hall and is aimed in particular at those who might otherwise be alone.

Organised by the ‘Elgin Elves’ group, the lunch is being prepared, cooked and offered free of charge with the help of the Moray Foodbank.

A spokeswoman for the group said: “We would have loved to have given an open invitation to people throughout Moray – alas, we just do not have the resources this year to organise transporting our guests from such a wide area.

“Those wishing to come along and who live in Elgin and surrounding areas such as Lossiemouth, Lhanbryde, Hopeman and Burghead are very welcome to contact us and if they require transport to and from the Bishopmill Hall we will organise that.”

Further information on the lunch can be obtained by Email to elginelves@gmail.com or by calling 07927 889538 or 07522 897687.
