New Elgin sneak-theft prompts appeal from local police

THEFT FROM A PROPERTY in New Elgin has sparked a new appeal from local police officers.

The sneak-in theft happened between 10.30pm on Monday, November 13 and 1.30am on the following morning in the Smith Street area. A handbag, personal property and cash was taken.

Enquiry officer Roseanna Davison said: “This has been an upsetting incident for the people involved and we are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything unusual or suspicious in that area to contact us on 101 quoting incident number 0757 of 14/11.

“We are also urging people to review their home security. Make sure all your windows and doors are locked even if you are at home.

“We would also ask that you keep an eye on neighbours in your community who may be more vulnerable and if you see anything concerning report it to police.”
