THE NEW YEAR is bringing a couple of the most popular authors on visits to Moray libraries in the next few weeks.

James Oswald will be calling in to speak on his latest ‘Inspector McLean’ novel ‘The Gathering Dark’ at an event in the Elgin Library organised in association with Waterstones.

That will take place on Thursday, January 25 at 7pm. Mr Oswald’s first novel was picked up by the Richard and Judy Book club to great acclaim – and he has since gone on to write eight Mclean novels and five fantasy novels as J D Oswald.

Purchase your ticket for this exciting event for £5 by calling Elgin library on 01343 562602 – there are limited spaces available.

Then on Thursday, February 1, Scottish crime writer Stuart MacBride will visit the Keith library for an event that will again begin at 7pm.

Best known for his Logan McRae series, his latest novel, ‘Now We Are Dead’, featuring the controversial DS Roberta Steel, was released in November last year.

Tickets, priced at £5, are available from Keith library by calling 01542 882233.

Tickets for both events are also available to buy online, via Moray Council’s EShop.
