Local outdoor learning and adventure charity Outfit Moray are holding their first art exhibition at Baxters Highland Village, culminating in a charity auction, thanks to the generosity of artists from Moray and beyond.
The exhibition is currently on, with art on display across the Baxter venue, including the Spey Room restaurant, the Gordon Room, and even the corridor.
Outfit Moray’s Community and Corporate Fundraiser, Karen Cox, said: “It really is an eye-catching display of generosity and talent from some fantastic artists, and we are incredibly grateful to all for their support.
“The idea of an auction came about following the donation of two collections of pieces from family members of Claire Alldritt, Outfit Moray’s Chairman. A plea for donations to local artists grew the collection rapidly, and soon there was enough to fill an exhibition. As the pieces have been donated, 100% of the unrestricted income from the auction can be reinvested to help support the Charity’s day-to-day running costs to enable them to continue providing outdoor learning and adventure activities for vulnerable and disadvantaged young people.
“All the artwork will be auctioned off during a charity auction on 23 June from 7pm. Baxters are generously hosting the event in their Gordon Room, while Aberdeen & Northern Marts are kindly running the auction. There’s room for 50 people and it would be a just wonderful if the event was sold out!
“Baxter Highland Village is always well worth a visit”, Karen continued, “with their delicious soups and pancakes, as well as a kitchen shop, clothes shop and a well-stocked whisky shop, which also stocks gin and local beers. We highly recommend popping down and whiling away a few hours this June – you will be able to taste some of our local whiskies, enjoy some good food and shopping, and take in our exhibition at the same time!”
Tickets for the auction are £5 each and can be purchased from the Whisky shop at Baxters Highland Village or by contacting Karen on karen.cox@outfitmoray.com. Tickets include canapes and a glass of fizz, and there will be a raffle on the night.
