As part of the early learning and childcare expansion, Moray Council’s Early Years team are holding a series of events this week to help parents and carers understand more about the changes from August 2020 and to promote progressive careers in the sector.
Parents and carers have the chance to ask their questions directly to the Council officers leading the changes in Moray in a Facebook live stream Q&A on Wednesday 1 May from 7.45pm.
A spokesperson from the team said: “With some questions already submitted on allocation of places, lunches and more, this is a great opportunity to ask us anything from the comfort of home. Viewers of the live feed can post their questions on the video and get real-time answers there and then on https://www.facebook.com/MorayFamiliesInformationService.”
Those interested in a career in early learning and childcare (ELC) can also tune in and ask their questions or come along to the ELC Academy’s Careers pop-up shop in the St. Giles Centre, Elgin, on Friday, 3 May, between 12noon and 4pm.
“Discover career pathways, opportunities to study and see the live jobs board or meet with employers and make use of the children’s play area while you find out more. With bookbug taster sessions throughout the day it’s ideal for parents and carers who may be looking to return to work or change career”, the spokesperson added.
“With all three and four year olds and eligible two year old entitled to 1,140 hours of ELC a year from August 2020 there are big changes to the delivery of early years care and education in Moray, including numerous career opportunities as a result – this is your chance to learn all about it. Join in and ask us anything.”
