Large sections of Moray were left without power this morning because of an as yet undefined fault.
Scottish and Southern Energy reported that 246 postal areas were affected with power first failing at 8.15am before coming on briefly – only to be cut again at 9.10am.
Around 11am customers around Lossiemouth started to report that power was coming back online, with SSE saying that all affected customers should have their power restored by midday.
A spokesman for SSE said: “We apologise for the loss of supply. We currently have a fault affecting the several postal areas around Lossiemouth – our engineers are on site working to get the power back on as quickly as they can.
“If customers need more information please call us on 0800 300 999 and quote reference ‘W77702′”
Postcode areas in the IV30, IV31 and IV32 areas were affected.
