Motorists are being warned that they could face dangerous road conditions in Moray today as freezing temperatures drift down from the north.
A yellow alert for ice and snow as issued by the Met Office on Monday warning that transport throughout Grampian could face disruption.
The Met Office ‘be prepared’ alert is expected to remain in force until later today and speaks of heavy wintry showers drifting down from the northern isles on Monday, producing snow showers on higher routes in the mainland.
Moray Council say that all priority routes had been treated in the region from 6pm on Monday and their gritters would be on the roads again from 6am this morning.
Motorists are being urged to take particular care if travelling in the region this morning while pedestrians are also be warned to be aware of ice on pavements and walkways.
